In an apparently repulsive move at least 92 contractual employees comprising 47 Block Technology Manager and 45 Assistant Technology Manager has been working under the Agriculture Technology Management Agency ATMA Scheme are being sacked from April 1, 2021. The order has erupted huge resentment among the ongoing contractual schematic staff in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. In a memorandum issued by the Deputy Secretary to the government vide reference No F1(14)/T-SAMET/MNP/LMB/2014-15/Part/2442-2581 of dated 22/02/2021 it is also cited that the resultant vacancies fall due to the said discontinuation shall be freshly filled up through outsourcing by the SOFED, Indranagar, Agartala. The memorandum has spread huge indignation and frustration among the ongoing contractual employees working under different schemes also. It may be mentioned hare that ATMA is currently sponsored Scheme launched to promote the extension of agriculture farming systems in the state.
