Fish,Meat,Veggie price surges On Monday: Dampen Vijaya Dashami Spirit In Tripura

An increase in prices of
essential commodities continues to pinch consumers, which
dampens the vijaya Dashami spirits in Tripura. Volatility in commodity markets happens every year
but it used to be temporary. This year, prices are ruling high
for last few months,” a vegetable seller said. A meat shop owner said the value of orders for this
festive period is insignificant as compared to previous year. According to traders, prices of vegetables and fish
could soften when new challan come. Prices of fish and meat increased at least 30-40 percent in the local market of agartala on monday. Price of the vegetables also increased average 15-20 percent on Vijaya Dashami day. Amid pendamic also crowd were much more in the lockal market like Battala, Dhaleshwar, Lake Chowmuhani from Early morning on monday. Mutton and chicken sold at Rs. 1200-1500 and 550-700 respectively. Eggs per hali sold at Rs 40-80. Fish like Hilsha was available at Rs 1300-1700. Vegetable price also was very high for the common men on Vijaya Dashami day.
This condition is not only in agartala but also in the other local markets.
