Four NLFT Extremists Surrenders On Thursday

A day after the release of three abducted workers of NPCC, as many as four cadres of banned militant outfit NLFT have surrendered with arms here on Thursday before Director General of Police (DGP) V S Yadav.
Yadav told media that the surrendered militants have deposited two AK-56 rifles, an AK Bayonet, four AK Magazines, 119 rounds of AK ammunition, a wireless handset and cash of 1.5 lakh Myanmar currency (Kyat). They were identified as Ratham Kaloi of Ompi and Joy Sadhan Jamaita of Killa under Gomati district, Madhu Ranjan Noatia of Shantirbazar under South Tripura and Kuklia Tripura of Karamcherra under Dhalai district.
“During interrogation the surrendered cadres revealed that from November 2028 to January 2019 as many as 17 leaders and cadres including three surrendered NLFT militants of Biswa Mohan faction had undergone special training at Kanglei Yowl Kanna Lup (KYKL) camp located at Tagga of Myanmar along with other extremist cadres of northeast,” Yadav said.
The DGP claimed, the surrendered militants had stated that the fight for independence of Tripura is a total farce with no future prospect towards overall development indigenous people of the state. Moreover, NLFT has been reeling under severe financial and organizational crisis, which influenced it to join the mainstream.
