National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct Common Eligibility Test, paving the way for a transformational reform in the recruitment process for central government jobs.

The Union Cabinet today approved setting up of a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct Common Eligibility Test, paving the way for a transformational reform in the recruitment process for central government jobs. Scores of Common Entrance Test to remain valid for 3 years during which the candidate can apply for jobs in different sectors depending upon their aptitude & preferences. The CET will replace the first-level entrance tests conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Boards and the Institute of Banking Service Personnel.The exam will be conducted twice a year, for different educational levels and in multiple Indian languages. The CET merit list will also be applicable for recruitment to state government jobs on a cost-sharing basis with the NRA.
