The Animal Resources Development Department ARDD of Tripura has taken adequate precautionary measures in response to sporadic reports of birds flue in some States in the country. There is no report of unusual deaths of live stock, birds, ducks, poultry, wild/ migratory birds in the state. Hence there is nothing to panic. All stakeholders are urged to follow the advisory of the department to prevent the ingress of bird flu, Said ARDD. Given the reports of the deaths of some birds and crows in suspected bird flu in some of the state like Kerala, MP, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gujrat in the country, State’s ARDD has taken up all sorts of preventive measures to combat the situation, said Dr K Sasikumar, Director ARDD. “We orders all concerned to carry out surveillance program on Avian Influenza Bird Flu under their respective jurisdiction. In case of any abnormality in mortality to send the sample od Serum, Swab etc in a regular manner to the district or States DI Laboratories” added Dr. Sasikumar.
