In a twist to the already fissured politics of the ruling party in Tripura, the chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has left for Delhi today by the direct Indigo flight to Delhi at 3-30 PM . Sources said that Biplab has been summoned by party and governmental high-ups in Delhi to discuss crucial issues pertaining to interests of the state but it is not yet known what issues will come up for discussion.
The chief minister’s visit to Delhi assumes significance in view of the fact that dissident MLA Ram Prasad Paul has been camping in Delhi for the past week , meeting senior party leaders including Binod Sonkar and Arun Singh . What Ram Prasad discussed with the central leaders is still not known but sources said that he did raise issues pertaining to state of affairs in the state party as well as the government, putting emphasis on the need for a major change in party and government.
