Braving intermittent rain, hordes of people were seen flocking big-ticket Durga puja pandals in the city agartala on Saturday night with little or no regard for social distancing and covid19 norms. At some of the popular marquees in the city, such as Shanti para, Ramthakur Shangha, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan club, Sanhati Club, Central road, Kaman chowmuhani, Paradise Chowmuhani, people found with out maintaining covid19 guidelines even with out masks at Saturday night at agartala. Rita Debnath, when asked why she wasn’t covering her nose, hit back saying she was finding it difficult to breathe with the mask on. “Why just me, there are so many others who are not following protocols” She added. The COVID-19 death count in Tripura reached to the 340 mark on Saturday with 3 more fatalities, even total number of 65 fresh covid19 positive cases pushed the tally 32000 plus. “I think the importance this virus was given in the beginning is gone now. Earlier people would not step out fearing for their lives. Now you can see nobody has any fear in their eyes,” said 24-year-old Sumanta Deb, looking at the people on the streets around him on Saturday night!
