With the schools opening from January 4 after nine month suspension due to covid19 pandemic the Elementary education department has initiated a process to augment the shortage of teaching staff in the Schools. A sizable number of schools have been exposed to teacher’s shortage after the exit of 10323 teachers from the service. According to the sources a total of 102 TET qualified teachers Under Graduates (33) and graduates (69) who had received offers of appointment earlier have been given posting on yesterday. They have been posted in such schools where shortage of teachers has been acute due to the sacking of 10323 teachers following the apex court,s final verdict. All the teachers were asked to join in their respective schools by January 4. Fourty more TET qualified teachers would be given posting in this month. Department plans to appoint 1350 TET qualified teachers (non B.Ed/D.El. Ed) by March next. The 1335 TET qualified teachers will have to complete professional degree within two years of the service as per the decision taken by the Ministry of Human Resources.
