AS many as 1126 voters of opposition parties mostly from CPI(M) have joined the ruling BJP since September 12, 2021 signaling that the ruling party has already begun its election exercise for the 2023 Assembly polls, Most importantly, the joining of 11,726 electors to the ruling party fold in nine days is seen as a major organizational success
of the BJP.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has personally attended four rallies- Sabroom, Kailashahar, Kamalasagar and Rajnagar to wel-
come the newcomers. It means the ruling party
has been able to engineer major slips in opposition parties-CPI(M), Congress and Tipra Motha.
Reports said, at Sabroom rally, 3651 voters of 1187 families joined the BJP on September 12 and it was followed by joining of 2357 voters of 795 families at Kailashahar on September 13.
Significantly, 3585 voters of 938 families of Kamalasagar Assembly constituency have vowed to join the saffron brigade on September 16 and 2133 electors of 698 families of Rajnagar (Belonia) joned the BJP on September 17.
The joining to the ruling party in Kamalasagar and Rajnagar is seen as politically and strategically important because the BJP could not win two Assembly seats even after statewide strong wave in favour of the saffron party.
Party sources said, the joining of over 1100 voters to the BJP is the trailer of the 2023 Assembly elections.
“Thousands of voters are ready to join the BJP because of the unprecedented works done by the Biplab Kumar Deb govermment during the past three and half years. The political wave is very strong in favour of the BJP said a senior party leader tonight. The party expects over I lakh voters from the opposition parties will be embracing the saffron party before the 2023 Assembly elections, he said adding that the partyy has already geared up to thwart any kind of intrusion bid by the opposition parties” claims BJP.
According to party insiders, karyakartas have already begun work up to the booth level to reach out to the voters with the good works of the present government.
And, the Central Ministers and leaders will keep visiting the state to highlight the Modi government’s welfare measures for the common people.
