The 39th edition of Agartala book fair starts from Friday at the Hapania International Fair ground in Agartala. Chief Minister Biplab Deb inaugurated the fair. This year altogether 162 stalls have been set up in fair ground. The fair will remain open from 2.30 PM to 9 PM on working days and from 2 PM to 9.30 PM on holidays. This year 96 stalls are from Tripura publishers and booksellers, 51 stalls from Kolkata and West Bengal, 4 stalls from Delhi, 8 stalls from Assam, One each stalls from Daman and Die, Mumbai, Rajasthan and neighboring Bangladesh. This year there is no stall rent and registration fees. During the 14 days long fair free bus services by 10 government buses will continue carrying passengers from different stops of the city up to fair ground from 1.30 PM to 9.30 PM. Due to pandemic all the covid norms like face masks, sanitization and social distance etc are to follow in the fare ground.
