88 Cows Smuggled From Burma Seized In North Tripura District
BSF jawans seized 88 cows smuggled from Burma to Tripura. The incident took place in Shib Bari area under Manu police station of Langtarivally subdivision under North Tripura District.
According to the details of the incident, 88 cows of high breed of Burma has been seized.
These cows are brought to the state from Burma to be smuggled through Mizoram.
A total of 18 vehicles has been seized involved in the smuggle. 15 Bolero car, 2 Sawraj Mazda, 1 Scorpio has been seized.
Based on secret information, the BSF jawans intercepted the vehicles loaded with cows in Shib Bari area around 4 am on Sunday morning.
A total of 88 cows were recovered in 18 vehicles. Out of 88 cows there were 3 dead, 3 sick cows.
The estimated market value of these cows is said to be more than 9 crores.
This is the first time in the state that such a large number of smuggled cows have been rescued at once.
The cause of death of three cows which were found dead was due to compression of space in the vehicle used in the smuggle of the cows.
And three cows got sick. There has been a demand from the locals that the police administration should crack down and nab the entire gang involved in this incident.
