Agartala Double Death: Couple Found Dead in North Banamalipur House

A double-death incident has triggered concern in Agartala after the decomposed bodies of a man and a woman were recovered from a house near Bhagwan Thakur Chowmuhani in North Banamalipur on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Suman Debbarma, 40, and Priya Debbarma, 39.
According to information available from the locality, the pair had reportedly been living together for around three years. Suman's sister allegedly detected a strong foul smell coming from the residence on Tuesday morning. On checking the house, she reportedly discovered the bodies and informed the Police.
Police personnel subsequently reached the location, recovered the bodies and began examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Bodies Sent for Post-Mortem Examination
Investigators have not yet established the exact time or cause of death. Based on the condition of the bodies, police have made a preliminary assessment that the deaths may have occurred around two days before they were discovered.
Forensic samples have reportedly been collected from the premises, while the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The autopsy findings are expected to provide crucial information about the circumstances and possible cause of death.

Family Raises Questions Over Couple’s Relationship
Suman's sister has reportedly told investigators that disagreements between the two had occurred occasionally during their relationship.
Family members also stated that Priya had been married previously. According to relatives, this had resulted in objections to the couple's relationship. The family allegedly advised them either to formalise their relationship through marriage or to separate after completing the legal divorce process.
Police have not established any connection between these family-related issues and the deaths.
Suman Reportedly Unemployed for Two Months
Sources also said that Suman had previously worked for a private company but had reportedly been without employment for approximately two months.
At this stage, investigators have not confirmed whether the deaths were the result of suicide, an accident, a criminal act or another circumstance.
A case concerning unnatural deaths has been taken up for investigation. Police are examining evidence from the residence and awaiting the post-mortem report before drawing conclusions about the exact cause and manner of death.
