Amid rising political tensions and reports of sporadic violence in the hilly regions ahead of the ADC elections, former Tipra Motha supremo and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has issued a strong appeal for peace and restraint among tribal communities.
Taking to social media, Pradyot Kishore expressed concern over incidents of violence among tribals, warning that such actions could damage the social fabric and reputation of the state. “If you truly love your society, you should not take the law into your own hands,” he stated.
He emphasized that elections are a periodic democratic exercise held every five years, but conflicts arising out of temporary political tensions could have long-term consequences.

According to him, internal clashes among tribal groups would only lead to division, weaken unity, and ultimately make the community a subject of ridicule.
Pradyot Kishore further cautioned that continued violence would tarnish the image of the state and undermine the collective identity of tribal society. He urged people not to be provoked and to maintain calm during this sensitive period.
Highlighting the importance of democracy, he stressed that a peaceful environment is crucial in the remaining days leading up to the polls. He also underlined that every citizen must be able to exercise their democratic rights freely and without fear on election day.
His message serves as a timely reminder for maintaining harmony and ensuring that the electoral process remains free, fair, and peaceful.
