Biplab Deb Returns to Tripura After National Elevation

BJP National General Secretary and West Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb received a major welcome in Agartala on Sunday following his appointment to the party's national organisational leadership.
Thousands of BJP workers and supporters gathered at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport to welcome Deb on his first visit to Tripura after being appointed a national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Deb arrived in Agartala with his wife and travelled from the airport in a hood-open vehicle before attending a felicitation and greetings programme at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan.
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, state BJP president Abhishek Debroy, Rajya Sabha MP and former state BJP president Rajiv Bhattacharya, ministers, MLAs, senior party functionaries and a large number of party workers attended the programme. The appointment has been described within the Tripura BJP as a significant achievement for the state.
Biplab Deb Credits Tripura People and BJP Workers
Addressing the gathering, Biplab Kumar Deb said his political journey had been closely connected with the people of Tripura and the BJP organisation.
Deb said Tripura had given him opportunities to serve in several important capacities, beginning with his tenure as Chief Minister and MLA and later as a Rajya Sabha member, Lok Sabha MP and now a BJP national general secretary.
He said he had not imagined reaching such a senior national organisational position when he entered politics.

According to Deb, the BJP's expansion in Tripura was the result of sustained efforts by grassroots workers combined with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP's Rise in Tripura Highlighted
Deb credited the BJP's growth in Tripura to the organisational work carried out across the state following the BJP's rise to power at the Centre in 2014.
He said the BJP subsequently succeeded in forming a government in Tripura in 2018, marking a major political shift in the state.
Deb said the party's political approach has increasingly focused on development, infrastructure, employment opportunities for young people and welfare-oriented governance.
Biplab Deb's Five-Family Formula for BJP Workers
One of the key messages from Deb's speech was directed at BJP workers at the grassroots level.
He urged every worker to maintain regular contact with ordinary families and asked them to visit at least five households every day.
Deb suggested that workers maintain a diary containing details of the families they meet, including their contact numbers and the problems they are facing.
According to the BJP leader, direct interaction with households will help party workers understand people's concerns, difficulties and expectations.
He stressed that public representatives and party workers should remain close to citizens and earn their trust through service rather than intimidation.
The emphasis on visiting five households daily was also reported as a central part of Deb's message to BJP workers during Sunday's programme.
Former BJP Leaders Should Not Be Ignored: Deb
Deb also called for greater utilisation of the experience of former BJP office bearers.
He said former presidents and other senior functionaries should continue to contribute to the organisation and that their experience should be viewed as an asset.
He encouraged grassroots workers to remain confident and active, stressing that an ordinary party worker could eventually rise to a major leadership position.
Biplab Deb Speaks on Political Violence in Tripura
The BJP national general secretary also referred to the history of political violence in Tripura.
Remembering BJP workers who lost their lives during earlier political conflicts, Deb highlighted their sacrifices and said the state has now moved beyond the period of political killings.
He urged party workers to believe in their own potential.
Deb said leadership opportunities could emerge for anyone within the organisation and advised workers not to underestimate themselves.
'Success Must Come With Humility': Biplab Deb
Concluding his address, Deb called upon BJP workers to remain humble and responsible even after achieving political success.
He compared successful individuals to fruit-bearing trees, saying that a tree bends further as it carries more fruit.
Similarly, he said greater achievements should make a person more humble and closer to the people.
Manik Saha Calls Biplab Deb's National Appointment a Matter of Pride
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha described Biplab Kumar Deb's appointment as BJP National General Secretary as a proud moment for Tripura.
Saha said Deb's journey from grassroots-level party work to the BJP's national leadership demonstrated the opportunities available within the organisation.
The Chief Minister recalled Deb's arrival in Tripura in 2015 and said he had focused on strengthening the party structure by empowering workers and expanding its organisational network.
Saha said the BJP's organisational expansion gradually changed the state's political environment and contributed to increasing public confidence in the party.

Saha praised the BJP for providing workers with opportunities and assigning responsibilities according to their capabilities.
She said the organisational system had helped create greater confidence in the BJP among people in Tripura.
The Chief Minister also said the state requires a strong and constructive opposition but argued that opposition parties need to reconsider their political approach to retain public support. Recent reports also quoted Saha as saying that Tripura would not allow the CPI(M) to return to power through what she described as a "lateral entry."
'Human Touch' in Government Initiatives
Saha said the BJP-led government has placed public welfare at the centre of its policies and is attempting to bring a human element into governance.
She cited initiatives including naming sports infrastructure after athletes in recognition of their achievements and establishing facilities such as shelter homes and canteens for people near GB Hospital.
The Chief Minister said Deb's appointment to the BJP's national leadership has created renewed enthusiasm among party workers across Tripura.
She expressed confidence that the state BJP organisation would become stronger and that the government would continue its development and welfare initiatives.
