Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has intensified the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, delivering a scathing critique of Tipra Motha and accusing it of systematically misleading the indigenous populace.
Addressing a public gathering in Ampinagar, Saha asserted that Tipra Motha is on the verge of political marginalisation and expressed unwavering confidence that the BJP will secure a decisive mandate in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. He underscored that the BJP is contesting all 28 ADC seats independently, eschewing any electoral alliances.
The Chief Minister further alleged that Tipra Motha has sought to engineer social discord by exploiting communal sensitivities—an approach he claimed has been firmly repudiated by the electorate.

Raising serious concerns over governance within the ADC, Saha contended that despite substantial financial allocations for development, tangible progress has remained elusive, with allegations of large-scale misappropriation surfacing. He emphasised the imperative for a transparent, accountable, and development-oriented administration.
During the rally, 427 voters formally aligned with the BJP in the presence of the Chief Minister, alongside Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and other senior party functionaries.
The Tripura by-elections are slated for April 9, coinciding with Assembly elections in several states, as notified by the Election Commission of India. The Commission has mandated a paid holiday under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, to facilitate broad-based voter participation, including among daily wage earners.
Earlier in January, Saha had urged party workers to campaign with conviction in sensitive regions ahead of the TTAADC polls, highlighting improvements in law and order and the successful reintegration of insurgent outfits such as the All Tripura Tiger Force and the National Liberation Front of Tripura as emblematic of the government’s development-centric governance model.
