How the Cockroach Janata Party Controversy Started:

The controversy began on May 15 after some media reports claimed that Chief Justice Surya Kant compared unemployed youth to “cockroaches” during a court hearing. The alleged statement triggered massive debate across social media platforms, especially among Gen Z users and unemployed youth.

However, a day later, Chief Justice Surya Kant clarified that he had not made such remarks against unemployed youth.

On May 16, the Chief Justice explained that his comments were directed at individuals using fake degrees to enter respected professions like law, media, and social media.

He stated:

“My comment was specifically directed at those who have entered professions like law with the help of fake and forged degrees. Such people have also infiltrated the media, social media, and other respected professions. They are like parasites.”

He claimed that thousands of Gen Z users and young people responded positively, encouraging him to launch a public platform that eventually became the Cockroach Janata Party.

Dipke also previously worked as a volunteer for the social media team of the Aam Aadmi Party from 2020 to 2023.
