Counting of votes for the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry is currently underway, with strikingly different atmospheres visible at major political party offices across the country.

In Kolkata, the headquarters of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) presented a subdued picture during the early hours of counting. In sharp contrast, the mood at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi was upbeat from the outset. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen enjoying jhalmuri during his outreach in Bengal, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cycled through parts of Kerala to connect with voters. TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee was also seen buying vegetables in local markets, showcasing grassroots engagement. In another widely discussed moment, Modi was seen interacting warmly with a boatman during his campaign.

As vote counting continues, these contrasting visuals—from deserted offices to celebratory gatherings—underscore the varying levels of confidence, anticipation, and political stakes involved.
