Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026: Tripura Targets Rs 1 Lakh Crore Investment,

Tripura is preparing to host one of its biggest investment promotion events as the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 will begin on July 9 at the International Fair Ground, Hapania. With an ambitious target of attracting nearly Rs 1 lakh crore in investment proposals, the state government is positioning Tripura as an emerging business and industrial destination in Northeast India.

Ahead of the two-day conclave, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha chaired a high-level review meeting at the fairground auditorium to assess the final preparations and ensure the successful organization of the mega event.

Tripura Aims to Become Northeast India's Next Investment Hub

Speaking during the review meeting, Chief Minister Manik Saha said the government is committed to creating a business-friendly ecosystem capable of attracting both domestic and international investors. He emphasized that large-scale investments will generate employment opportunities, improve per capita income, accelerate industrial development and strengthen Tripura's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

The Chief Minister described the conclave as a historic milestone, noting that it is the first investment summit of this scale to be organized in the state.

He also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed rapid economic transformation, inspiring governments to adopt development-driven policies focused on public welfare and sustainable growth.

Rs 30,000 Crore MoUs Already Signed, Rs 8,000 Crore Projects Underway

Highlighting the achievements of the previous investment summit, Prof. Saha informed officials that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth nearly Rs 30,000 crore had already been signed, while projects valued at around Rs 8,000 crore have entered the implementation phase.

For the 2026 edition, the state government has set a much bigger target of securing investment commitments worth approximately Rs 1 lakh crore.

The Chief Minister said major investment opportunities exist in healthcare, education, information technology, logistics, transport, tourism and several other high-growth sectors.

500 Delegates from India and Overseas to Attend

Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Kiran Gitte informed the meeting that the inaugural session on July 9 will be attended by Chief Minister Manik Saha, Union Minister for Development for North Eastern Region (MDoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, members of the State Cabinet and senior government officials.

The conclave is expected to welcome nearly 500 delegates representing industries, investors, entrepreneurs, business organisations and policymakers from India and abroad.

More than 20 exhibition stalls showcasing investment opportunities across various state government departments and Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) will also be set up at the venue.

Foreign Delegations Confirm Participation

The international outreach of the conclave has received a significant boost, with diplomatic missions, embassies, high commissions and investment consultants from multiple countries invited to participate.

Official confirmations have already been received from representatives of Bangladesh, Nepal, the Maldives, Kazakhstan, the Philippines and Uzbekistan, while delegates from Russia and Indonesia have also expressed their interest in attending.

Focus on High-Growth Economic Sectors

The Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 will showcase investment opportunities across several strategic sectors, including:

  • Tourism
  • Education
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Logistics
  • Renewable Energy
  • Real Estate
  • Food Processing
  • Tea Industry
  • Rubber-Based Industries
  • Agarwood-Based Industries

Apart from exhibitions, the programme will feature business networking sessions, investor interactions with the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers, sector-wise presentations, round-table discussions, policy dialogues, economic reform sessions and MoU signing ceremonies.

FICCI and Invest India Join Hands with Tripura Government

The mega investment summit is being organised by the Government of Tripura with the support of  FICCI and Invest India, aiming to attract long-term industrial investment and accelerate economic growth across the state.

Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha said the successful organisation of the conclave would significantly strengthen Tripura's investment image at both the national and global levels.

He further stated that Tripura currently ranks among the country's leading states in legal simplification and ease-of-doing-business reforms, adding that senior Central Government officials are also expected to visit the conclave to assess the state's reform initiatives.

The review meeting was attended by MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, Principal Secretary Santanu, Director General of Police Anurag and senior officers from various government departments.

Before the meeting, Chief Minister Manik Saha personally inspected the exhibition venue at Hapania and reviewed the ongoing preparations, issuing necessary directions to officials for the smooth and successful conduct of the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.
