Govt Seeks Report By Friday in Girl Students Ill Incident. CM Manik Saha Visits GB Hospital

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited GBP Hospital and meets with the girls who admitted with illness after having meal of hostel namely Maharaja Bir Bikram Welfare Society. 

On Thursday afternoon, while visiting the GBP Hospital r, he spoke to the doctors on duty at the hospital. Then he spoke to eleven female students admitted to the hospital. The chief minister also inquired about what food was eaten in the morning. 

Then, facing the media, the Chief Minister said that it is believed that this incident happened due to food poisoning. As a result, a total of 20 to 25 students fell ill.

"11 of them are currently under treatment in hospital. 10 students are of Bodhjung School. Another student of Maharani Tulshibati ​​Girls' HS School. They all are staying in one hostel. Their physical condition is currently stable. One of them has developed fever again. Officials have been asked to give a report on why this incident took place" said CM. 

The Chief Minister assured that the government will do everything possible for the proper treatment of the girl students. 

The Chief Minister also said that after the incident, four ambulances of the National Health Mission immediately reached to the spot and brought the girls to GBP Hospital. As a result, treatment has been started at the right time. 

On the other hand, a delegation of SFI and TSU, the main opposition student body in the state, rushed to GBP Hospital.

They Inquires about the physical problems of female students under treatment. Later, SFI State Secretary Sandipan Deb said while facing the media that, "it will be known later whether food poisoning has occurred. However, as far as it is known from the students, they all get sick together after having pulse, rice in the morning. In particular, this incident proves that there is extreme mismanagement the of hostels in the state. Food quality is not maintained. 

On the other hand Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy reached GBP Hospital after getting the news. He also inquired about the physical condition of the students. Talk to the doctors for proper medical service.

Meanwhile State Government  issued notice to the caretakers and hostel warden of Maharaja Bir Bikram Society of the capital Agartala who are running the girls hostel.

They have been instructed to inform why this incident happened in written by tomorrow ie Friday. 

"Strict action will be taken against them if the report is not submitted within the stipulated time" in the notice mentioned Government.
