Somnath Swabhiman Parv Celebrated In Agartala With Grand Kalash Yatra

 

 

 

Agartala, May 11: The state-level Somnath Swabhiman Parv was celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in Agartala on Monday, commemorating the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the historic Somnath Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of India.

 

 

 

 

As part of the celebration, a grand and colorful Kalash Yatra was organized in the city. The procession began from the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Ghat opposite the Cell Tax Office and moved through several important roads of Agartala before concluding at the main state-level event venue at Shivbari premises on Central Road.

 

 

 

 

The programme witnessed the presence of Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar, along with other dignitaries, devotees and citizens.

 

 

 

 

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the Shri Somnath Temple stands as an eternal symbol of India’s spiritual consciousness, traditional faith and indomitable civilization.

 

 

 

 

“Despite repeated foreign invasions over centuries, the Somnath Temple continues to stand proudly as a symbol of self-respect, courage and cultural resilience,” he said.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Saha further stated that the reconstruction of the modern Somnath Temple became possible due to the determination of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel nearly 75 years ago.

 

 

 

 

He also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Somnath has emerged as a major symbol of India’s cultural renaissance and spiritual revival.

 

 

 

 

The Chief Minister expressed his happiness at attending the programme organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of Somnath Temple.
