Himanta Biswa Sarma Takes Oath As Assam CM For Second Consecutive Term

Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term.
Lakshman Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Himanta Biswa Sarma during a grand swearing-in ceremony held at the Khanapara Veterinary College Ground in Guwahati.
Along with the Chief Minister, four newly elected legislators were also inducted into the council of ministers.
The ministers sworn in included Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog from the Bharatiya Janata Party, besides Atul Bora of the Asom Gana Parishad and Charan Boro of the Bodoland People's Front.
Out of the four ministers inducted into the cabinet, two belong to the BJP while the remaining two represent alliance partners of the NDA government.
The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Chief Ministers from several BJP and NDA-ruled states, Union ministers and senior party leaders also attended the event.
Members of Himanta Biswa Sarma’s family were present at the ceremony and joined in the celebrations marking the beginning of the NDA government’s new term in Assam.
