Long-distance runner Gulvir Singh etched his name into Indian athletics history by becoming the country's first-ever medallist in the men's 10,000 metres at the Commonwealth Games.
Competing in persistent rain on a slippery track at Scotstoun Stadium, Gulvir produced a determined run to finish second in 27:49.78, securing the silver medal.

Harjinder Kaur Lifts Silver with Personal Best
Indian weightlifter Harjinder Kaur continued India's medal surge by finishing second in the women's 69kg category.
She registered a personal-best 101kg in the snatch before lifting 126kg in the clean and jerk, finishing with a combined total of 227kg to secure silver.
Canada's Charlotte Simoneau won the gold medal with 240kg, while Australia's Naya Phoebe Henman finished third.

The two silver medals further strengthened India's position in the Commonwealth Games medal standings. Australia continued to dominate the competition, while India remained among the leading nations with its medal count steadily increasing after another productive day.

Canada's Maud Sharon captured gold, England's Sarah Davies Smale earned silver, while Family-Christie Notte of Nauru secured bronze.
Vishal TK Advances, Srihari Nataraj Reaches Semi-finals
Indian athletes also produced encouraging performances in track and swimming events.
