Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered a sensational unbeaten century to lead India's chase. The left-hander remained not out on 110 runs, registering his second ODI hundred. His brilliant knock included 14 boundaries and three towering sixes.
Captain Rohit Sharma also played a crucial role, scoring a fluent 79 off an aggressive innings featuring nine fours and three sixes. The opening duo stitched together a massive 170-run partnership, putting India firmly in control of the contest.
India comfortably chased down the 219-run target, reaching 224/1 in just 28.4 overs. Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 20 as the hosts sealed victory with ease.
Hashmatullah Shahidi Scores Maiden ODI Century
Earlier, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi produced a fighting innings, scoring 102 runs to register his maiden ODI century. Azmatullah Omarzai contributed a valuable half-century, but Afghanistan struggled to build momentum after losing wickets at regular intervals.
The visitors were eventually bowled out for 218 in 44.2 overs despite their captain's heroic effort.
Prasidh Krishna Claims Five-Wicket Haul
India's bowling attack was led by Prasidh Krishna, who delivered a match-winning spell and finished with five wickets. Gurnoor Brar, Harsh Dubey, and Prince Yadav also made important contributions with one wicket each.
