Iran-US War Escalates: Strait of Hormuz Tanker Blast Claims Rejected by US, Fresh Airstrikes Intensify Gulf Tensions

The military confrontation between Iran and the United States has entered another dangerous phase, with both nations issuing sharply conflicting statements over incidents in the Strait of Hormuz and a fresh wave of military operations across southern Iran. The developments have further heightened fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East and possible disruptions to global energy supplies.

IRGC Claims Tanker Explosions in Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that two oil tankers exploded after striking sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials alleged that the incident resulted from misleading intelligence allegedly circulated by US agencies.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected the allegation, describing it as false. Instead, the US military said it had completed its seventh consecutive night of precision operations targeting Iranian military infrastructure, including weapons depots and maritime assets.
