At least 14 newborn babies died after a devastating fire broke out at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, PIMS in Islamabad on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. One infant was reportedly rescued as emergency teams battled the blaze inside the hospital’s Mother and Child Health ward.
