Yumnam Khemchand Singh is set to undertake a three-day visit to Jiribam district from April 4 to April 6, marking his second outreach to the region as part of sustained peace-building and reconciliation efforts.
During the visit, the Chief Minister is expected to engage in dialogue with community leaders from both Meitei and Kuki groups, aiming to rebuild trust and restore stability in the conflict-affected district. Sources indicate that he is likely to arrive in Jiribam at approximately 12:55 pm on April 4.
His itinerary includes brief inspections at Leingangpokpi Police Outpost, Jiribam District Hospital, and Lamlenkhul, where he will assess on-ground conditions and interact with officials as well as local residents.
The visit follows his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on April 1, during which the prevailing law-and-order situation in Manipur and the urgency of expediting the peace process were discussed.
Upon returning to Imphal, Khemchand also held discussions with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, where updates on the security scenario and outcomes of his meeting with the Union Home Minister were reportedly reviewed.
The Chief Minister will be accompanied by a delegation of seven MLAs, including Tongbram Robindro, Kongkham Robindro, L. Rameshwor Meetei, Dr S. Ranjan, H. Dingo, S. Premchandra, and Paonam Brojen.
Earlier, on April 2, he chaired a high-level review meeting at the state Secretariat to evaluate security arrangements along key National Highways, underscoring the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of people and essential goods.
Reaffirming his administration’s stance, he stated that the government remains resolute in advancing peace, stability, and public confidence through decisive and coordinated measures.
