In the run-up to the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, the state administration has entered the final phase of preparedness. From the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to the conduct of postal ballots, every stage is being executed under strict supervision and in adherence to established protocols to ensure that polling on April 12 is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
Administrative activity has intensified across the state. In line with the prescribed schedule, several critical steps have already been completed in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to facilitate a smooth electoral process.
One of the most crucial components of the preparation—EVM commissioning—is currently underway at full pace in the offices of Sub-Divisional Magistrates. This process involves rigorous testing of each machine to verify its functionality, accuracy, and security. In the presence of technical experts, every component is being meticulously examined to eliminate any possibility of malfunction or technical disruption on polling day. Strict protocols are being followed to uphold transparency and reliability.
Meanwhile, the process of voting through postal ballots for government officials and security personnel deployed on election duty has already commenced. This voting exercise is being conducted at designated centres, including government offices and educational institutions, across various constituencies under the TTAADC. The initiative ensures that individuals unable to be present on polling day due to official responsibilities can still exercise their democratic rights.
The entire election preparedness is being carried out under the direct supervision of Returning Officers and respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates. According to the administration, all directives issued by the Election Commission are being strictly implemented. Special emphasis has been placed on maintaining security, transparency, and neutrality through a multi-layered monitoring mechanism.
It is noteworthy that political activity has already intensified ahead of the April 12 elections. However, the administration has asserted its readiness to handle any situation effectively.
Overall, the state machinery is fully engaged in final-stage preparations to ensure a smooth, transparent, and peaceful electoral process.
