Tipra Motha Eyes 470+ of Tripura’s 587 Village Committees, Claims Strong Poll Showing

Tipra Motha has expressed confidence over its performance in the Tripura  Village Committee Elections claiming that the party could secure control of more than 470 Village Committees among total 587 once the final results are declared.

The claim was made following an internal review meeting convened by the party to assess its position across the Village Committee constituencies. According to the leadership, the party's assessment indicates a strong showing and the possibility of securing a substantial number of committees.

Tipra Motha Claims Nearly 200 Committees Won Unopposed

During the post-meeting assessment, Tipra Motha leaders claimed that the party has already secured around 200 Village Committees without a contest.

The party said its internal evaluation suggests that the final tally could cross the 470-mark after the counting process is completed. However, these figures remain the party's assessment and are yet to be established through the official election results.

The Village Committee elections are being closely watched because of their significance for grassroots-level political representation in Tripura, particularly in areas where local political equations remain competitive.

Party Puts NDA Tally at Around 500 Committees

Tipra Matha also referred to the broader NDA tally, claiming that the alliance could collectively have control of at least 500 Village Committees.

The party leadership, however, acknowledged that the actual numbers will only become clear after the votes are counted and the Election Commission announces the official results.

The distinction between the party's internal assessment and the final official tally remains important as counting is yet to determine the precise distribution of Village Committees among the political parties.

Appeal for Peaceful Counting Process

Ahead of the counting exercise, Tipra Motha has appealed to the Election Commission and the local administration to ensure that the process is conducted peacefully.

The party has called upon the concerned District Magistrates, Superintendent of Police and other administrative officials to make adequate security and administrative arrangements so that counting can take place without disruption.

Tipra Motha said maintaining a peaceful environment during counting would be essential for ensuring confidence in the electoral process and preventing any untoward incident.

What Happens Next?

The final political picture will emerge only after the counting process is completed and the official results are released. Until then, claims regarding the number of Village Committees won by Tipra Motha or the wider NDA grouping should be treated as party projections rather than confirmed results.

The outcome will provide a clearer picture of grassroots political support and the distribution of Village Committee control across Tripura.
