Tribute Garden Opened for Martyred BSF Jawan

In a heartfelt tribute to a brave soldier who laid down his life in the service of the nation, “Sisir Vatika” was inaugurated at the Border Security Force Frontier Headquarters in Shalbagan, Tripura on Thursday.

The programme was attended by Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier Alok Kumar Chakraborty along with BSF personnel, former army members from Tripura, and family members of the martyr.

The memorial garden has been dedicated to martyr Sisir Kumar Chakraborty, who sacrificed his life in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir in 1999 while serving the nation.

The initiative was undertaken to honour his bravery, dedication, and unwavering commitment towards protecting the country.

Developed under the theme “Tribute in Green” as part of the BSF’s 60th anniversary celebrations, “Sisir Vatika” is not only a memorial to the fallen hero but also an effort to inspire future generations with the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice.

Officials said the initiative symbolises gratitude and deep respect for all border guards who have laid down their lives while safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.

During the programme, special tribute was paid to the martyr in the presence of his wife, Biplabi Chakraborty. Attendees remembered the immense contribution and sacrifice of Sisir Kumar Chakraborty with deep respect and honour.
