Focus On Export Promotion Of Tripura Queen Pineapple
Official sources said the international exhibition will showcase the quality and uniqueness of Tripura’s Queen variety pineapple before foreign delegates, buyers and trade representatives.
Representatives from various embassies and high commissions based in Delhi are expected to attend the exhibition. The state government hopes the visiting dignitaries will experience the quality of the fruit and encourage imports to their respective countries.

The initiative is expected to significantly boost the export potential of Tripura pineapple in international markets.
Queen Pineapple Among Tripura’s GI-Tagged Products
Since the Bharatiya Janata Party government came to power in Tripura in 2018, three products from the state have received Geographical Indication (GI) tags. These include:
- ‘Risa’ — the traditional tribal attire of Tripura
- ‘Pera’ — the famous condensed milk sweet offered to Goddess Tripureshwari in Udaipur
- ‘Queen variety’ pineapple
The GI tag recognition has strengthened branding, marketing and export opportunities for these indigenous products.
Pineapple Exports Already Started To Europe And Middle East
Sources said exports of the Queen variety pineapple have already begun to countries in the Middle East and Europe. Officials believe the Delhi exhibition will further expand international demand and create new export channels for Tripura farmers and traders.
The exhibition is also expected to help India earn valuable foreign exchange through increased agricultural exports.
The Queen pineapple of Tripura is known for its exceptional sweetness, aroma and low fiber content, making it highly popular in domestic and foreign markets.
