A 45-year-old man identified as Jalil Rahman died following an alleged mob assault in Bagber under Kalyanpur Police station in Tripura. The incident reportedly took place after some people suspected him of being involved in cattle theft.

Jalil Rahman Dies After Alleged Assault in Bagber

According to the deceased's family, Jalil had gone out early Wednesday morning in connection with the transportation of cattle. Relatives alleged that he was later intercepted on the road by a group of people who accused him of being a cow thief and assaulted him.

Jalil was eventually rescued in a critical condition and taken to a hospital for treatment. However, doctors were unable to save him.

Doctors Attempt CPR but Patient Could Not Be Revived

Hospital doctors said Jalil was brought to the facility in an unconscious and unresponsive condition. His pulse and blood pressure were reportedly undetectable.

Medical personnel immediately began emergency resuscitation measures, including CPR, but their efforts proved unsuccessful. Jalil was subsequently declared dead.

Family Alleges Relatives Were Also Attacked

The deceased's family has alleged that the violence was not limited to Jalil. Shilpi Begum, a relative, claimed that she was assaulted after reaching the location upon hearing that Jalil was being beaten.

She alleged that attackers struck her on the head and other parts of her body with a stick. She further claimed that her father was also assaulted and that her mobile phone was taken when she attempted to contact other family members.

Family Says Jalil Had a Heart Condition

Another family member, Artist Begum, alleged that Jalil had been suffering from a heart-related condition. She claimed that relatives repeatedly requested the attackers to stop the assault because of his health condition, but their appeals were allegedly ignored.

The family also claimed that several relatives sustained injuries during the incident.

Death Leaves Family Facing Financial Crisis

Jalil's death has reportedly created serious financial difficulties for his household. Family members said he was the principal earning member and had young children who depended on him.

Relatives have demanded a proper investigation, strict legal action against those responsible and justice for Jalil Rahman.

Kalyanpur Police Begin Investigation

Following the incident, Kalyanpur police reached the area and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault and death.

Investigators are looking into what led to the confrontation, who allegedly participated in the assault and whether the suspicion of cattle theft was the actual reason behind the attack.

Police sources said the complete circumstances will become clearer as the investigation progresses.
