Tripura University Gets New Vice-Chancellor as Professor Debabrata Das Assumes Charge

Bringing an end to months of administrative uncertainty, Professor Debabrata Das officially assumed charge as the new Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University on Wednesday. The appointment is expected to restore institutional stability and accelerate academic, research and administrative activities at the state's only Central University under University Grants Commission (UGC)

The Vice-Chancellor's post had remained vacant for several months following the completion of former Vice-Chancellor Professor Gangaprasad Prasain's tenure. During this period, several important academic and administrative decisions were delayed, creating concerns among teachers, researchers, students and university staff.

The formal charge-taking ceremony was held at the university campus in Suryamaninagar in the presence of Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Shyamal Das, senior university officials, faculty members and administrative staff.
