TTAADC Introduces 3-Day Office Attendance, Work From Home From May 16

The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council has instructed its employees to report to offices physically for only three days every week while allowing work from home on the remaining working days, citing the recent increase in petrol and diesel prices after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to conserve fuel.

The revised work schedule will be implemented from May 16. As per the directive, employees will attend offices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, whereas Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be treated as work-from-home days, except on second and fourth Saturdays.

The decision follows a similar move by the Tripura government, which recently directed 50 per cent of state employees to work remotely in response to the Prime Minister’s appeal for fuel-saving measures amid tensions in West Asia.

In the notification issued by TTAADC Chief Executive Officer Raval Hamendra Kumar, it was stated that the decision had been taken due to the sharp rise in energy and fuel prices.

However, staff involved in emergency services will continue to attend duties normally and are exempted from the order.

The CEO further stated that the council would prioritise the use and hiring of electric vehicles for official transportation as far as possible.

The order also made it clear that employees cannot leave their station headquarters without obtaining prior approval. Those working remotely have been directed to stay accessible through phone calls and electronic communication for urgent official responsibilities linked to the council.

Meanwhile, Manik Saha along with senior ministers in the state cabinet have also scaled down their official convoys as part of ongoing fuel conservation initiatives.
