The Congress party has decided to organize a nationwide district-level protest on Monday, February 6, in front of the Life Insurance Corporation offices and the State Bank of India offices against the Hindenburg Report.
Party general secretary KC Venugopal said ” the government cannot risk the hard-earned money of the people of India to benefit close friends of the prime minister”
He said LIC has invested Rs 36,474.78 crore in the Adani group, while Indian banks have invested around Rs 80,000 crore in the group. They continue to do so even when allegations of stock manipulation, accounting fraud, and other wrongdoings arise. The Adani group has suffered a loss of $100 billion since the Hindenburg report came out.
“All the State Congress Committees have been requested to issue necessary instructions to the District Congress Committees, so that apart from senior leaders, party officials and workers, complete mobilization can be ensured from BCC, Panchayat and booth level” KC Venugopal said.
Congress is also demanding to inquire this Adani matter by JPC under the supervision of the Chief Justice of India, because thousands crores public money have already gone to Adani Group.
He said that amid all-round gloom due to unprecedented unemployment, rampant inflation and economic crisis, it wad expected from Modi government to present a budget that would address these urgent concerns of the people.
He said, unfortunately, Instead of protecting the interests of the people and stopping the wastage and loot of public money, the callous government is still intent on helping PM Modi’s friends. It is completely throwing caution and prudence to the air.
