CPIM Tripura West District Committee organized a two-hour sit-in program in front of the office of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited demanding to stop the privatization of electricity along with withdrawing the increased electricity tariff, to remove the poor condition of electricity services.
CPIM warned that they will participate in a larger movement in the coming days if their demands are not met soon.
In this regard, CPIM said that the state government is increasing the burden of pressure on the common people.
” Power of 12 sub-divisions of Agartala city have been handed over to private players to loot. Besides, 5 divisions of the state have been handed over to the private sector” said CPIM.
CPIM directly opposed this policy of the state government.
CPIM also said that the state government is increasing the electricity tariff in various ways. Therefore, our demand is to withdraw the increased electricity tariff, stop the privatization of electricity, and solve the poor condition of the electricity service.
