About 20 minutes after the locals reported the complaint, the fire brigade personnel reached the spot.
By then, the Blood Sun Club’s puja mandap and idols were burnt to ashes. However, the firemen denied the allegations. Firefighters claim they reached the spot within two minutes of being alerted, And brought the fire under control within 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manik Saha has expressed his grief over the incident. Shortly after this incident, the Chief Minister posted on social media and said that the puja pandal along with the structure of the idol is completely gutted due to a sudden fire during the work on the puja pandal at Bloodsun Club located in Ujan Abhaynagar in Agartala. This incident is sad.
He said that he is deeply saddened by this incident. Besides, the chief minister said that puja organizers in the state are being asked to take extra precautions during the construction of puja pandals. The fire is believed to have started from an electrical short circuit.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumdar and others rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the incident.
