The interim budget of the Agartala Municipal Corporation for the next four months of this year was presented in the conference hall of AMC on Monday.
Under the chairmanship of Mayor Dipak Majumder, the budget was presented unanimously on this day.
Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, corporators of AMC, Councillors, Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav and other officials were present there.
Mayor Dipak Majumdar said that the budget was presented on Monday with an eye on what is needed to provide fair civic services to the people of Agartala Pur Nigam. This budget of Rs 142 crore has been presented. However, this is Rs 21 crores deficit budget .
“The next budget session will be held on April 26. On that day the budget will be passed unanimously . But the corporation is already going to start working with the money that is available without sitting for the budget” the mayor said.
He also said that the regulatory authorities have taken this decision to ensure that the ongoing development works are not stopped. More new plans have been adopted to keep Agartala city clean and traffic free. The full budget will be presented after the next four months. Problems of the Citizens of all section will be highlighted in this budget.
He also said that awareness programs will be taken up in various places including Anganwadi centers of every ward to ensure that the central and state government projects of social welfare and social education department are properly implemented. And if someone admits a problem and does not get the benefits of the project, then the matter will be looked seriously.
