Festival season begins all around. During the festive season, blood donation camps may not be organized as everyone gets busy with the festivities. As a result, blood shortage may occur in the blood banks of the state like in the past.
Therefore, a blood donation camp was organized by the initiative of the Sadar Divisional Committee of the Student Federation of India (SFI) ahead of the Durga Puja festival.
Politburo member and former chief minister Manik Sarkar was present in the camp held in Melarmath Agartala.
He said that it is not a big issue how many people have donated blood. It is important that everyone comes forward in this important social event with responsibility. Because blood has no religion. There is no substitute for blood to save human life. And there is a need for blood donation as well as publicity to make those who do not come forward to donate blood aware.
Sarkar also said that there can be no greater donation than body donation, blood donation and organ donation. So everyone has an important role to play in these donations.
Later Manik Sarkar visited the blood donation camp. Those who have come forward to donate blood are encouraged more.
The presence of blood donors in the camp was quite noticeable. The organized camp was also attended by SFI State Secretary Sandipan Deb and others.
