Tripura’s Trinamool Congress staged a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue at Kunjaban in Agartala on Saturday demanding President’s rule in Manipur.
Communal violence has been going on in Manipur for 89 days since May 3. Murder, arson, rape are going on indiscriminately.
The rule of law has completely broken down. Highlighting these incidents, the role of the BJP government in the state has been strongly criticized by the leaders and activists of the youth and women wing of the Trinamool.

President of Tripura Mahila Trinamool Congress Panna Deb said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s beti bachao beti padhao chant has become a farce across the country today. Wherever the government of Modi’s party is in the country, women’s dignity is being snatched every day. In Manipur, women are being paraded naked on the streets. We sat on dharna in protest.
Youth Trinamool State President Shantanu Saha said, horrible situation is going on in Manipur for three months. An irresponsible BJP government has no right to remain in power for a day.
On this day, this dharna program of Trinamool was able to attract the attention of many pedestrians.
