Anti-student decisions are underway in schools under the Vidyajyoti scheme. The All India DSO submitted a deputation to the Director of Higher Education, demanding that the government withdraw these decisions and provide education to all the students.
They stages protest in front of Shiksha Bhawan (Education Directorate) on this day before the deputation.
All India DSO State President Mridul Kanti Sarkar said that schools under the Vidyajyoti scheme should immediately withdraw the increased fee, Maharaja Bir Bikram College should also withdraw the increased fee.
“The decision to privatize and commercialize education must be reversed. Because the government has pushed to give future and assurance to the students in the name of Vidyajyoti Scheme. Schools are demanding exorbitant fees. As a result, despite having merit, students are being deprived” he said.
AIDSO warned that if the government does not immediately withdraw the decisions which are against student interest, then it will launch a larger movement.
