An ancient Kali idol recovered from Dasmighat of river Gomati in Udaipur on Tuesday, the day of Dasami.
As soon as the news of the rescue of the ancient idol from river Gomti spread, many people gathered. Information was given to the police of RK Pur police station.
During the funeral, some local people went down to the river at Dasami Ghat adjacent to Udaipur Loknath Bari.
And then the ancient statue stood at their feet. They told the matter to the local residents.
Men of Udaipur Municipal Council working at Dasami Ghat was called. A large police force of RK Pur police station rushed to the spot of incident.
According to everyone’s decision, the police recovered the ancient stone statue and took it into their custody.
Police said that the idol will be handed over as per the administrative decision.
However, the police said that the water in the river is low. People always walk through this place on it. Go down to the pier. But how and from where the statue came from is not clear.
Meanwhile, according to locals, the statue is very ancient. It is speculated by many that this ancient idol fell into the river in the night during the historic Jagannath Dighi excavation.
According to the reliable sources this kali idol belongs from the royal period of Tripura.
