AoJ Meets CK Naik, Aware Him About CM Biplab Deb’s Threat To Journalists

A delegation from the Assembly of Journalists met CK Naik, a member of the press council of India alleging that Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb had threatened the media. The nine member delegation briefed Naik on the details of Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb’s threat at a public meeting on September 11. The delegates alleged that 21 journalists attacked in different parts of the state so far after CM’s threat. They have also informed that no specific action has been taken against the incidents despite specific allegations being made by the police. Not even a single incident was condemned by the part of the government. As a result miscreants have been encouraged and the incidents of attack increasing day by day. Naik said, AoJ would be called to Delhi soon to hear the allegations against the Chief Minister. Meanwhile a committee was formed of Tripura Journalists Union in which Syed Sajjad Ali selected as president, Alok Ghosh as senior Vice President, Md Jamal Uddin as President, Pranab Sarkar as Secretary and Abhishek Dey as Asst Secretary.
