Assam polls: Bodoland People’s Front quits NDA, joins Congress-led alliance

Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) on Saturday introduced that it was quitting its alliance with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and joined fingers with the Congress-led coalition forward of the upcoming Assam meeting election.
“We shall not preserve friendship or alliance with BJP,” president of Bodoland People’s Front Hagrama Mohilary stated. “To work for peace, unity, and growth and to deliver a secure authorities, free from corruption in Assam, the Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) has determined to hitch fingers with MAHAJATH. In the forthcoming Assam meeting election BPF shall work hand at hand with Mahajath,” Hagrama Mohilary stated in an announcement on Facebook.
Chief Election Commissioner of India, Sunil Arora on Friday stated that Assam will go to polls in three phases, beginning on March 27.
The counting will happen on May 2.
