Assembly Polls In 5 States From 7-30 November. Check Details Here

The Election Commission has announced the dates of assembly elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. Voting will be held in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November. 

Voting will be held in Rajasthan on 23rd November. Voting will be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh on 7th and 17th November. 

Elections will be held in Mizoram on 7 November. Voting will take place in Telangana on 30th November. The results of all states will come on 3 December.

Before 2024 Lok Sabha polls the elections, the assembly elections of these five states are considered very important. Political experts are calling them the semi-finals of power. 

We will tell you the complete schedule of elections to be held in these states, whose government is in power here and who is in the opposition.

Rajasthan Assembly Elections

Currently Congress is in power in Rajasthan Assembly and Ashok Gehlot is the Chief Minister. He is claiming that Congress will come to power again, while BJP is hoping for a comeback. But due to internal strife, this will not be so easy for BJP.

Voting will take place on 23rd November.

– Counting of votes will take place on December 3

– There are 200 seats in Rajasthan Assembly. Here 101 seats are required for majority.

There is currently a Congress government in Rajasthan. In 2018, it had won 99 seats. The second largest party is BJP, it has 73 MLAs. BSP was at third position with 6 MLAs. However, later all the BSP MLAs joined Congress. 

Later by-elections were also held on some seats in which Congress won. Now Congress has 108 MLAs and BJP has 70 MLAs. RLPA has 3, independent MLAs are 13. BTP and CPI(M) have 2 MLAs each, while RLD has 1 MLA.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections

Elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh in three phases in November. Strict security arrangements will be made to conduct the elections peacefully. Counting of votes will take place on December 3.

-Elections will be held on 17th November

– Results will come on 3rd December

There are 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh Assembly and the majority figure to form the government here is 116.

BJP and Congress are among the important political parties in Madhya Pradesh. This time Aam Aadmi Party is also contesting the elections. At the same time, Bahujan Samaj Party also has dominance on some seats. Talking about the elections held in 2018, the Congress Party had emerged as the largest party with 114 seats and had gained power by removing the 15-year rule of the BJP. 

BJP had got 109 seats, but later Jyotiraditya Scindia along with his supporting MLAs joined BJP. Due to this, Kamal Nath’s government fell and BJP formed the government under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Currently, BJP has 127 MLAs in the House, Congress has 96, BSP has 2, SP has 1 and 4 independent MLAs.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections

In the 2018 assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Congress registered a landslide victory and ousted the BJP, which was in power for 15 years. Congress had formed the government under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel.

– Elections will be held on 7 and 17 November

– Results will come on 3rd December

There are total 90 seats in Chhattisgarh Assembly. Here 46 seats are required for majority.

BJP and Congress are the main political parties in Chhattisgarh. However, here also Aam Aadmi Party is in the election field this time. Apart from this, many other parties are also joining hands. 

In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress had won 68 seats. BJP got 15 seats, while others got 7 seats.

Telangana Assembly

In the 2018 assembly elections in Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) won 88 seats. Of. Chandrashekhar Rao formed the government here.

– Elections will be held on 30 November

– Results will come on 3rd December

There are total 119 seats in Telangana Assembly. The majority mark to form the government here is 60.

This time in Telangana, there is a tough fight between Congress and BRS. However, BJP is also in the race here. In the 2018 assembly elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) won 88 seats. Of. Chandrashekhar Rao formed the government here. 

After TRS, the second largest party was Congress, which had 19 seats in its account. Bharatiya Janata Party was able to win only one seat. 

Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM had won 7 seats, while Telugu Desam had won 2 seats. This time Telugu Desam Party has formed an alliance with Pawan Kalyan’s party Janasena.

Mizoram Assembly

The Congress, which was in power for 10 years, had to face defeat in the 2018 assembly elections in Mizoram. Mizo National Front had formed the government here.

– Elections will be held on 7th November

– Results will come on 3rd December

There are total 40 seats in Mizoram Assembly. The majority figure to form the government here is 21.

If we talk about important political parties in Mizoram, there is no one or two parties. The seats are scattered here. In the 2018 elections, Mizo National Front had won 26 seats, while Congress had won five seats. 

Apart from this, Zoram People’s Movement won on 8 seats and Bharatiya Janata Party on 1 seat.
