Australia Wins Cricket World Cup For 6th Time. Defeat India By 6 Wickets In The Final Match

Once again the dream of crores of Indian fans was shattered.  In the final match of the World Cup 2023 played in the Narendra Modi stadium, Australia defeated the Indian team captained by Rohit Sharma by 6 wickets.

In this victory of Australia, left-handed opener Travis Head made an important contribution by playing a brilliant inning of 137 runs.

Apart from this, Labuschagne scored 58 runs. In the title match, Australia dominated India from the very beginning.

This is the sixth time Australia wins Cricket World Cup.

In the match, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, the Indian team was all out on the score of 240 runs in 50 overs. Chasing the target of 241 runs, Australia won the match in 43 overs. Australia, captained by Pat Cummins, was excellent in all three departments including batting, bowling and fielding. 

The pair of opener Travis Head and number five Marnus Labuschagne took Australia to victory. Both the batsmen made a partnership of 192 runs for the fourth wicket, in front of which all the Indian bowlers failed. Head scored a century and Labuschagne played a half-century.

 Both the batsmen took the innings forward intelligently and led the Kangaroo team to victory. However, Travis was head out 2 runs before winning the match.

Even though Australia lost 3 wickets in 6.6 overs, Australia continued to dominate the match. The first blow to the Kangaroo team came in the form of David Warner (07), who was dismissed by Shami.

After this, Bumrah sent Mitchell Marsh (15) to the pavilion in the fifth over. Then Bumrah made Steve Smith (04) his victim in the seventh over.

Australia had lost 3 wickets at the score of 47 runs. But after this, the fourth wicket partnership of Travis Head and Marson Labuschagne proved to be the first for the Indian bowlers, which they could not understand. Both added 192 runs in 215 balls.

However, this partnership broke on the last ball of the 43rd over, when Australia needed just 2 runs to win. Head scored 137 runs in 120 balls with the help of 15 fours and 4 sixes.

Whereas Labuschagne added unbeaten 58 runs with the help of 4 fours in 110 balls. 

For the Indian team, Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets after spending 43 runs in 9 overs. Apart from this, Mohammed Shami and Siraj got 1 success.
