Auto Driver Union Of TIPRA Motha Holds 12 Hours NH Blocked

The auto drivers union of Tipra Motha (IMWU) staged a road blockade for 12 hours to protest the recent death of an auto driver in a road accident on National Highway No. 208.

They started the road blockade at Khowai Bachaibari market under Knowai District from 6 am on Tuesday.

According to the details of the incident, Biswajit Debbarma (37), a resident of Bachai Bari Char Gharia area, is the secretary of Tipra Matha party’s Auto Driver Union , Asharambari center and is also an auto driver.

Biswajit Debbarma was hit hard by another auto number TR 06 2777 which was coming from Behala Bari while crossing the road on the National Highway No. 208 in Sikatbari Bazar area last Thursday around 2:00 PM.

Biswajit Debbarma fell and hit his head on the drain wall on the side of the road.

Finally, the locals brought Biswajit Debbarma to Khowai District Hospital with serious injuries, from where he was referred to GBP Hospital for advanced treatment after first aid.

Later, the accused auto driver Pappu Kar was arrested and handed over to the police by the locals.

 Finally, Biswajit Debbarma succumbed to death on Sunday afternoon after a four-day fight with death.

In protest against that, the officials of the IMWU auto drivers organization blocked the road for twelve hours from Tuesday morning in Bachaibari market.

However, in a phased manner, vehicles stuck on the road were released after noon. So motorists have to suffer a lot.
