Auto Without Road Permit: Tripura High Court Orders To Take Action

According to the rules of Transport Department , seven documents are required to get an auto on the road. That auto is illegal if it doesn’t have one of those papers.

The transport department can impound an auto if any of these seven documents — registration, route permit, fitness certificate, road tax receipt, pollution certificate, insurance document and valid driver’s license — are missing.

According to the report there are illegal autos in Agartala and the suburbs!

Recently 32 applicants filed writ petition in Tripura High Court that at least 47 Auto Rickshaws are running illegally without road permit on Bamutia-Radhanagar route.

They also mentioned in their petition that all though they informed about this to the Transport Department but no action has been taken by the Department.

After hearing, Tripura High Court directed to the Transport Department to take action against the Auto Rickshaws running without road permit.
