Bamboo Of Tripura Used For Flooring In New Parliament Building

The new Parliament House will be inaugurated on Sunday. The new building is associated with the diverse culture of the country.

The flooring in it is made of bamboo from Tripura. The state of Tripura is famous for its bamboo screens made from split bamboo.

The carpet is from Mirzapur. The red-white sandstone is from Sarmathura in Rajasthan.

And for the construction, sand was brought from Charkhi Dadri in Haryana. Apart from this, teak wood has been imported from Nagpur for the Parliament building.

Saffron green stone Udaipur, red granite Lakha near Ajmer and white marble have been imported from Ambaji in Rajasthan.

Talking about the false ceiling of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the steel structure used in it has been imported from Daman-Diu.

Whereas the furniture installed in the Parliament was prepared in Mumbai. The stone lattice work was done from Rajnagar and Noida in Rajasthan.

The new Parliament building built under the Central Vista Project is the dream project of the Prime Minister. Its construction started in January 2021 and was completed in 28 months.


The material for the emblem Ashoka Pillar was called from Aurangabad in Maharashtra and Jaipur in Rajasthan.

On the other hand, the huge wall of the Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha and the Ashoka Chakra installed outside the Parliament have been brought from Indore.

The stone carvings have been done by the sculptors of Abu Road and Udaipur. The stones were brought from Kotputli in Rajasthan.

Fly ash bricks were sourced from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, while brass work and precast cement trenches were brought from Ahmedabad.

Sunday is the inauguration of the new Parliament. Earlier on Friday the first video was released. The video begins with the entry gate. Then the Ashoka symbol on the dome and the outer walls, after this the view of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is visible.

Behind the seat of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha speaker are huge Ashoka Chakras. There are designs of peacock feathers on the carpet of the Lok Sabha.

A similar symbolic design is made on the desks of the members. There are screens on every desk.

The new Parliament House can comfortably accommodate 888 members in the Lok Sabha Chamber and 300 members in the Rajya Sabha Chamber.
