Bangladesh-Agartala Rail Link By June: Union Tourism Minister In Agartala

Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy first visited Badharghat railway station to inspect the progress of Akhaura Agartala rail link project on Tuesday. 

There he talked to the project officials and was informed about various issues. 

Later, the Union Minister went to inspect the construction work of Nishcintapur railway station. 

Later, while facing the media, he said that the railway communication system between the two countries will be developed through the Nishcintapur railway station. Thus the relationship between the two countries will be strengthened. And the people of North East will be benefited. 

The Union Minister said that discussions have also been held with the workers of the contractor organization responsible for completing the work within the stipulated time. 

He also said that if the railway service is established between the two countries, , here will be development for both countries in the overall sector including employment, agriculture etc.

The Union Minister expressed hope that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate it this year. 

However, he regretted that the work was not completed in time due to two years of monsoon and Covid. But instructions have been given to complete the work by next June. 

Apart from the Union Minister, local MLA Meena Rani Sarkar and others were present on that day.

Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and North Eastern Region Development (DONER) G Kishan Reddy held a meeting with all members of the state cabinet and top officials at Tripura Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. CM Manik Saha also attended the meeting.

Later speaking with the press he said that:

“Tripura has a golden opportunity for development in the next five years, the government is working with that goal in mind”. 

On this day, he said that in the meeting, he discussed the activities of all the departments of the Tripura government and the implementation of all the projects of the central government. 

He claimed that the main goal of that discussion is that the Indian government wants to make Tripura a developed state.

His sarcasm, Tripura has been humiliated for 30-40 years. All the development that was needed in the state was never implemented. So Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to take Tripura to the pinnacle of development in the next 5 years. 

He also claimed that Tripura will show the way to the world as a direction of development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, attention will be paid to speedy development in Tripura. Not only that, all the facilities provided by the central government to the people of Tripura will also be looked into, he added. 

On this day, he said with confidence that the Tripura government has set a target to complete the development work of Mata Tripurasundari temple before Navratri.

On this day, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the Union Minister has come to visit the state after being invited many times. After inaugurating all the projects today, various demands of the state were presented to Union Minister Kishan Reddy. He assured to meet the demands quickly.
