The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 is going to be implemented across the country from October 1, 2023.

According to the report, now the importance of Birth Certificate will increase a lot. You will be able to use this single document for many purposes like admission in school, college, application for driving license, adding name in voter list, Aadhaar registration, marriage registration or government job application.

It is worth noting that the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 is going to come into effect from October 1. After the implementation of this Act, the role of birth certificate is going to increase in making all the necessary documents starting from Aadhaar.

You can get all the necessary documents from Aadhaar to driving license made without any hassle only through birth certificate. This bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on 1 August and in the Rajya Sabha on 7 August 2023.

After this, now the Central Government has issued a notification on this and announced that the new rules will be implemented from October 1.

The main objective behind the change in the rules of birth and death registration is to prepare a database of births and deaths at the central and state level.

After the implementation of this rule, the state and central governments will be able to easily share the data of births and deaths among themselves.

For this, Chief Registrar and Registrar will be appointed by the states. The Chief Registrar will do the work of maintaining data at the state level.

At the block level, this work will be done by the Registrar. This will help in preparing a national database of births and deaths across the country and will make it easier to prepare many data bases like ration card, voter ID card.
